About

Business is Pleasure

For the past 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of running a childcare business from my home. I’ve watched children grow and develop, and I’ve cherished the joy that comes with being part of their early lives. But when the Covid-19 pandemic arrived in March 2020, it gave me something I hadn’t expected—time. But was it just free time, or was it a gift of true freedom?
Freedom had been something I was missing in my life. While balancing full-time work and raising three daughters, I had lost touch with parts of myself. But as my daughters began to grow more independent, I found myself with a rare opportunity to reflect, to reconnect with my true self, and to ask myself important questions about how I wanted to show up in the world.
Finding My Truth

In the summer of 2020, my now-husband, Steven, invited me to take a road trip with him from Rochester, NY, to Colorado. He wanted to learn more about my childhood in Colorado, spend time with family, and, at the same time, prepare to ask me to marry him. During our trip, we spent hours in silence, letting the journey unfold at its own pace. The breathtaking Colorado mountains brought back memories of my past, and I found myself dreaming about the future in ways I hadn’t before.
One of the most powerful memories that emerged from this trip was of a transformative weekend experience I had as a child in Snowmass, Colorado. In 1983, my family participated in a retreat at the Windstar Foundation, founded by John Denver and Thomas Crum. Windstar was a visionary place, far ahead of its time. The retreat brought people together to live in teepees, participate in workshops about health, healing, creative expression, and sustainable living, and to experience a deep connection with the land. It was a space where people came together with a shared vision for a better, more harmonious world.
Even as a child, the weekend at Windstar had a lasting impact on me. It shaped my sense of who I wanted to be and what kind of world I wanted to help create. Being back in Colorado, I began to wonder: What would Windstar look like today? How could I help bring that vision to life?
The Transformation

When we returned home in late July of 2020, something had shifted within me. A sense of awareness had emerged, and I felt profoundly different. Some might call it enlightenment, but for me, it was simply a deep sense of clarity and gratitude. I felt free from the weight of past expectations, and I knew it was time for a change. For the first time, I was ready to step into a new chapter of my life—one that would allow me to contribute to the world in a more meaningful way.

The Birth of KaneBridge Estates

With that clarity, I began to ask myself: How could I bring the transformative vision of Windstar to life here in Rochester, NY? How could I create a space where people could connect with nature, heal, and find clarity for their own journeys?
That’s when the universe seemed to respond. I reconnected with Amber Buck, an old friend and yoga instructor, who shared my passion for creating spaces of healing and growth. We talked about the vision, and soon, we began discussing possible locations. One conversation led to another, and I learned that Steven had a childhood connection to a beautiful property here in Rochester. The synchronicities were undeniable—KaneBridge Estates seemed to find us.
In a short period of time, we acquired the property and began to build something new. I made the decision to step away from my childcare business and embrace this new venture full-time.

My Now

Now, at KaneBridge Estates, I live with a deep sense of purpose. I’m motivated to teach, share, and connect with others on their own journeys of self-discovery and healing. There are endless opportunities unfolding on the property, and I am grateful to be able to serve others in this way.
Through our retreats, I hope to offer others a chance to explore the questions that have been on their hearts for years. I want to create spaces where people can reconnect with themselves, find clarity, and experience the transformative power of community and nature.

Daily practices have profoundly changed my life. They’ve brought me back to my core motivations, answered questions I’ve been asking for years, and helped me stay grounded as I step into this new chapter of my life.
I invite you to experience the magic of KaneBridge Estates for yourself. I truly believe that something here will inspire you to shine your light in the world, just as it has inspired me.
